A message from Eric Rosand, the Executive Director of the Strong Cities Network
Dear Colleagues,
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Victoria later this month for our Community Safety Conference and wanted to draw your attention to a workshop that the Strong Cities Network is organizing in cooperation with the City of Victoria in the same venue immediately following our conference.
The Strong Cities event will run from 12noon on October 30 through the end of the day on the 31st. It will focus attention on threats to social cohesion in municipalities in western Canada and the western United States and how elected local leaders and local governments can best prevent and respond to them. Officials from more than 30 municipalities are already confirmed to participate. Among other things, discussions will explore ways to enhance cross-border cooperation between these cities to address a borderless hate and disinformation threat landscape.
Below you will find the invitation (with information on how to register) and a draft agenda. If you are interested in learning more about this event, including possibilities for the organizers covering your accommodations for any additional nights in Victoria should you choose to attend, please reach out to Kelsey Bjornsgaard at [email protected] by 5pm PST on Wednesday, October 23nd.
